BASE and DEGI are proud to confirm that all Rising Star shortlist nominees will receive mentoring from a member of the Entertainment Mentoring and Leadership Group, allowing them to share their knowledge with the next generation of talent. With mentoring recognised as one of the most effective ways to address inequalities in workplace demographics, the scheme is supported by a cohort of industry experts to ensure its integrity and impact. Looking ahead, BASE and DEGI are committed to evolving the Rising Star Awards to further support underrepresented groups across the Home Entertainment industry.
The Hedy Lamarr Rising Star Award is inspired by the annual DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group Hedy Lamarr Award for Innovation in Entertainment Technology, launched in 2017. The DEG Award recognises female executives in the field of entertainment technology who have made a significant contribution to the industry and is presented in November each year, to coincide with the anniversary of Lamarr’s birth.
